Located in Istanbul’s vibrant Karaköy district, Mitte Karaköy reflects SAVATLI Architects’ approach to crafting immersive dining spaces through layered textures, rhythmic geometry, and a bold yet balanced material palette. The design orchestrates contrasts—between dark woods and hand-plastered surfaces, between polished stone and tactile fabrics—to create a spatial experience that is both dynamic and cohesive.

The flooring is a custom terrazzo composition, featuring bold inlays of terracotta, green, and white, establishing movement and rhythm from entry to seating areas. Walls are treated in hand-applied plasterwork with a color gradient that transitions from deep burgundy to neutral gray, enhancing spatial depth while maintaining a warm atmosphere.

Ceiling design becomes a focal element, with a geometric wooden framework housing abstract art panels. This interplay of art and architecture introduces visual rhythm overhead, while custom lighting fixtures add sculptural refinement and ambient glow. Seating varies from sleek wooden chairs to upholstered armchairs in geometric fabrics, balancing intimacy with vibrancy.

A brass-accented bar anchors the space, backed by a layered composition of mirrored surfaces and illuminated shelving, showcasing curated bottles and decorative elements. Integrated greenery softens the edges, adding a sense of vitality to the spatial composition.
